5.0 out of 5 stars Glasses much more comfortable than originals, September 20, 2011

I wasn't sure if it would be worth the money to buy two extra glasses, especially since I wish sony had some great combo packs (like Panasonic-Avatar, or Samsung-Dreamworks). The glasses are lighter, and much more comfortable, plus my other ones are not rechargable as these are. Surprised the the usb is micro instead of mini (traditional ps3 and other sony stuff), but they come with their own cables. You may want to purchase a ac to usb coverter so that you don't have to have the tv, ps3 or computer on to charge the glasses. Worth the price tag in the bundle (90 dollars) not sure if the movie is worth the money as I did not really like it in the theater.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Bundle!, November 8, 2011
This review is from: Sony 3D Bundle/Narnia Glasses (Electronics)
I was just about to buy these on amazon when i saw online that this bundle was only $40 new at Sears, pick up only. Check your local Sears to see if they still have them in stock because nationwide they reduced the price of this bundle for all their stores

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Skype camera for my new TV, July 15, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?)
This review is from: Sony CMU-BR100 Camera and Microphone for Skype (Electronics)
This is an awesome camera. The only thing that would make it better would be if it swiveled. Its on the top of a TV that is mounted on the wall so the view is a bit awkward, looking down to the floor. I think the ultimate Skype TV camera would have a swivel of some kind and a remote so we can pan back and forth across the whole room. Anyways, this one is the best you can buy today and we are very happy with the purchase.

This is your only choice for a webcam, for Skype, for your Sony Internet TV (check compatibility before ordering). It can also be used as a regular webcam on a computer.

This small cam/mic is about 6 inches long and 3/4 inch wide. The mounting instructions are pretty much incomprehensible. Once I ignored the helpful little pictures, I was able to get it stuck to the top of my TV. A product at this price point might be expected to have a better mounting system, e.g. a matching peg system that better mates the webcam to the TV. Once you have it stuck to the TV, plug it into the USB port on the TV and you're good to go. Just fire up the Skype app, found under "Internet Video" on your Sony TV remote. You will not be able to text message nor will you be able to send files using the internal TV app, but you may not need to do either. In a typical family room/entertainment room setup, you won't.

If you are using the TV as a computer monitor, as I am, you can plug the... Read more

This is what you'd expect. It's a webcam. It works fine with my Bravia TV. The downside is that with Skype the image quality isnt super great in general. This uses a wide fov camera to capture the room since it doesnt know where your face is. So unlike with a laptop webcam where your face is really big fillign up the screen with this you appear really small in it. Could be good if a crowd wants to skype, but not so good if it's a single person to a single person. It is fun to be able to see the other person on the big TV though. What it really needs is some kind of zoom/tracking option but that would be more expensive...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great HDTV. Amazing Picture Quality. SONY does it Again., June 8, 2011
This review is from: Sony Bravia KDL-55HX729 55-Inch 1080p 3D LED HDTV with Built-In Wi-Fi (Electronics)
*** Before reading this review understand that watching a movie on a new TV right out of the box will not provide the best picture. I spent hours and hours perfecting the settings and features of this 3D HDTV before I even tried to watch something. This Sony 3D HDTV has a huge amount of options and when set just right, you will not believe your eyes.

Pros:

+ Amazing Picture Quality. Clean crisp images with amazing depth.

+ Netflix and other streaming programs launch and run easily.

+ The Sony menu system while watching is great. Change options and features as you watch.

+ Very beautiful TV. It is a work of art and even while off I can't stop looking at it.

+ Built in WiFi

+ Built in 3D Transmitter

Cons:

- Sound is not the best. The speakers are mounted in the back of the set which is nice because they are hidden, however this greatly hinders the audio quality. This is not an issue to me... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars underrated, December 13, 2011
This review is from: Sony Bravia KDL-55HX729 55-Inch 1080p 3D LED HDTV with Built-In Wi-Fi (Electronics)
**Before you read this review please know I had no chance to test the 3D! It was of little importance to me, and I didn't have glasses :( **

I was able to borrow 5 different 2011 LED televisions to do a comparison in home. So this will be a review/comparison of the Sony and other sets. Among the contenders was this Sony HX729, Sony NX720, Samsung D6400, LG LW5600 and Sharp LE835u. Whew! (i know) After days of testing, tweaking, watching, my top pick was this Sony HX729. A *very* close runner up was the Sony NX720 or Samsung.. but they just didn't have the black levels or response time to match the Sony.

Highlights of this TV:

Deep black levels (for LCD/LED)
Fast pixel response
Great motion handling
Almost zero ghosting
low input lag (for gaming)

Lowlights:
speakers are pretty bad
Contrast AND Brightness diminishes quickly when moving off-angle. (LG was AWFUL in *dark* scenes when moving off angle.. had... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome, November 16, 2011
This review is from: Sony Bravia KDL-55HX729 55-Inch 1080p 3D LED HDTV with Built-In Wi-Fi (Electronics)
WHY THIS MODEL:
I bought this TV through Amazon last week and it arrived a few days ago. I've had a good amount of time to play with all its capabilities. The out of the box settings are not that good, so the settings do need some adjustment. This TV is an unbelievable deal coming from SONY as it has the EXACT same specifications as the more expensive HX820. The only difference is that the HX820 has monolithic gorilla glass design. I've compared this TV with both the EX720 and the HX820 and this TV delivers a picture almost identical to the HX820 for a much cheaper price than the HX820. The original listing price for the 46HX820 is $2,600 while my 46HX729 was originally listed for $1,900. Trust me, $700 more just for just the monolithic gorilla glass on the HX729 is not worth it. Don't by into the opti-contrast gimmick that Sony says monolithic gorilla glass provides, the HX729 creates black as black as the black frame. I was originally looking to buy the EX720, but after finding... Read more
